We went back to Civil Affairs today and officially adopted Grace--so she is now a deSambourg. Last night went wonderfully--she went to sleep with no tears and slept all night. She woke up dry and smiling and ready to get dressed and take on the day. Still no tears--except this morning when we were in the lobby and Dave had to go back up to the room--she cried until he got back. She wants us both with her at all times--which means she is beginning to make an attachment. We had to be interviewed by Chinese officials--it was a little nervewracking, but I guess we answered everything okay. The scariest question was "You have so many kids already, why would you want another?" I felt fear at that point, but somehow managed to give an answer that was acceptable. After the interviews we went shopping at a store that's similar to a Walmart and then to eat lunch--all this with the other family and our guide. We ate different foods that are popular in northern China--all very good but I can't pronounce any of the names. We are back at the hotel watching Grace put a puzzle together over and over as quickly as she can. We don't know if she was timed doing puzzles in the orphanage or not, but she acts as though she must put it together as quickly as possible. We have the rest of the afternoon and evening free--tomorrow she gets her medical exam and we apply for visa and passport. It is truly amazing how much we love this little girl!

What troopers you all are! And wrapping herself around her daddy's pinky finger that tightly already...she knows what she's doing! :)
Whoops -- I commented as Bret. Really it's Rachel...
Hey guy and girls, Grace still has that very HAPPY smile. I am just so excited for you all. Officially a de Sambourg has a great ring to it. We cannot wait to meet Gracie. Anyway, I just have one big question: you have yet to post her height and weight: We really wanted to go shopping already. She looks bigger than 4T: Maybe a 5T or size 5. Aunt Bon Bon is already ready to do the girl thing again. Anyway, hope you have another splendid and bonding day with Grace. Love, Bon Bon
ANOTHER GRANDCHILD and lucky #7. She's really ours, and we feel so blessed. We love her so much already. We're having a blast with the 3 we have here. We're so happy she has bonded so quickly. We love you all, Mia

I watched the video that is on Uncle Dave's facebook when you met her for the first time while I was in the student center with two friends and we were all crying around the laptop! I love yall so much-give her a kiss for me!
